Vitamin D information:

Vitamin D (also referred to a Calciferol) and known as the “sunshine vitamin” is an essential nutrient the body needs to function efficiently. In 2025, reports indicate a significant portion of the UK population struggles with vitamin D, with studies showing around half of UK adults having sub-optimal levels, and estimates suggesting 1 in 5 people are deficient, especially during winter/spring, with higher risks for darker skin tones, older adults, and those indoors. This vital vitamins’ main benefit is for building and maintaining healthy bones. This is due to the body only being able to absorb calcium, the primary component of bone, when vitamin D is present. Vitamin D has many roles in the body, including reduction of inflammation, as well as modulation of such processes as cell growth, neuromuscular and immune function, and glucose metabolism. Adequate levels of Vitamin D are important to prevent health conditions.

The course includes detailed online learning materials, and an online exam. Your printed certificate will be posted to you once you have passed your exam.
